Yesterday was the first spring day truly worthy of nonstop outsideness.
We took full advantage of it, expanding the normal Tour de Bremerton with Tilly, the dog, to be a real 3-hour tour. We kicked it off with our regular trip to Pendergast Park, and followed that with an exploration of a wilderness trail in the area. Then we headed to do a quick trip to the shops, dropped in at Cafe Corvo for the Saturday coffee/chai/pupcup treat.
When we got home, we decamped to the sun in the side yard for a beverage and a bask with Tilly and the cats. That gave me time to contemplate yard work. What followed was a bit of a frenzy of yard improvement:
- I raked and weed-whacked a section of the side yard to prepare to plant wildflowers
- I spread the partial shade wildflower seeds and watered them
- I watered the plant in the back patio area
- I mowed the front yard
- I put up the hammock and beta-tested it with the help of SpookyBear, the cat
By 8:30pm, we were all pretty much down for the count, feeling well-dosed with sun and vitamin D.
